Z-36/Student Apartments on South Side CHASTan Rd.

LCD Acquisitions, a developer specializing in student housing, submitted a rezoning application to Cobb County to build student apartments on the south side of Chastain Road, between I-575 and Chastain Meadows Parkway. This 33 acre parcel of land would  have 180 units and 775 beds with a single entrance on Chastain Road. Among the BFCA's concerns are the volume of additional traffic to this already-busy stretch of road, the effects of pollution, noise and crime, and the encroachment of undergraduate rental units in an area with so many residential subdivisions.
Status: This case was withdrawn by the applicant on 6/27/17 after staff comments did not recommend for approval due to its incompatibility with the Cobb County Comprehensive Plan and community opposition.

Built on the corner of Busbee Pkwy and Big Shanty Road, this is a PBSH - Purpose Built Student Housing (not owned by Kennesaw State University) -- APPROVED
